My car is now beeping at me when I start it?
Just a single beep - from where I don't know? The Sigma Alarm maybe??
Cannot remember what it means - was it a low battery?
Or just the car saying, 'Get out fatty!' ?

If you had a Cocklink fitted you'd have been warned about this ages ago....
It's the last resort beep from the ECU and is warning of impending engine failure due to excessive knock, bearing wear due to the use of low quality lubricants, and the inability to follow the **** oil change procedure.
Sell the car quick before it finally goes, take any offer you are given.

Pete, do the keypad battery test and tell us what result you get from that.
You know, ignition to on, press 8 on keypad, then turn ignition off quickly, and count the flashes of the alarm LED on the dash.
Be interested to know what that says as regards to the battery whilst it is bleeping at you.

Oh my goodness.
The arch conserver of all things mechanical, pads, discs, tyres, engines etc, cannot preserve a simple ickle battery.
Mine, September '99, still going strong, even after being left 3 weeks.
We real men know how.
