Main dealers charge up to 15.5k for P1's.
Main thing i would be looking for is FSSH and a good warranty.
Do a search on here and you will no doubt find that one or two go bang around 50-60k miles.
Nik.

Get the P1 vehicle number stamped into the ID plate on passenger strut top & log yourself onto p1woc.co.uk to see if you can find any history on the car.

All p1's have been thrashed, that's what they are for, but don't let that put you off they are hardy cars.

If it's from a main dealer it will have 12 months warranty which is handy.

Take someone in the know with you, you can't look at one of these cars without expert knowledge or AA type inspection. (unless it's a main dealer).

As for their reliability they have a reputation of breaking and there doesn't appear to be a defiitive answer as to why this happens. If you can't afford an engine rebuild then stay clear.

Take the test drive, you won't be dissapointed. Awesome cars.

Yes along with..........

Insufficient oil pump/flow
High speed runs cause inadequate intercooler efficiency
Too low RON fuel
