I have to agree. I've always preferred the look of the rally cars to the 'supercars'. If I could afford to buy a £60k Porsche i'd rather split the money, and buy a decent Evo and a new Impreza. I'd much rather have a few top of the range rally type cars than one more expensive Porsche.

Personally i don't think they are, but maybe i'm just extremely thankful i can afford to buy and run one and just overlook this fact

Must admit, Id go for the 911 too ! If i had 60k, I'd probably buy a nearly new 911 Turbo rather than brand new normally aspirated 911.
Actually, if I sold the house and just slept in a sleeping bag in the car.........

This film clip isnt about which of the two cars is the best, its about the fact that only Porsche and Subaru use Boxer engines and both are availble with four wheel drive systems.

I've never really been into Porsche either, but having recently been loaned a new 911 Carerra 4S for a 24Hr test drive courtesy of Porsche GB I've now become pretty interested in them. So at least their marketing is working. You never know I may get a Cayman in the future. Anyway back to the point......
The Porsche is such an uplift in quality and the suspension does everything it has to do without being as hard as the Subarus. Oh, and that Sport Button

If I was in the position to spend £60k on a car - I wouldn't dream of buying another Impreza. A 911 would definitely be the first thing on my list. Imprezas are fast point to point cars and very forgiving not to mention tuneable but what you have to do to them to get them to how they SHOULD drive out of the factory...
If I had 60k to blow, I wouldn't have to 'split' my funds and buy two 30k cars. I'd just buy another 60k car as well with the rest of my stash. Maybe a Maserati Quattroporte or similar for family outings. I doubt anyone would, in real life be faced with having to spend 60k on a car and having to mull over whether to get a 911 or two Japanese saloons. If you've that much to spend on a motor, chances are you've got a lot more besides and you're about as likely to buy a Subaru or a Mitsubishi as you are a Daewoo or a Hyundai.

Is it me or did that STI redline at 7000rpm - I thought they would all be 7500 like the older ones??
Not bothered about the debate on what car to buy at 60k - just because someone can afford 60k on a car doesnt mean they go out and buy one.

The fact is boh cars are great, even though their design concept is quite different (in my opinion!).
The Germans are great at reviewing cars, you could even say that they are shoulder to shoulder with TG.
Do think they are more technical than TG though, and I like that!
