Default Places to stay in Edinburgh?

I'm planning on whisking the other half away in June for 4 days, Ive booked a nice car new from work (Saab Convertible or Merc E class)

I was just looking at this place: Edinburgh Hotels, Apartments and Accommodation in Edinburgh

But because iv never visited the Edinburgh i don't know the area or where it is?

Can anyone help or even recommend a place to stay?

There is a hotel called Channings that I stayed with the Mrs at. We really liked it.

wining a dining i would suggest the grass market area for going out etc !! stay anywhere in the city centre/west area as thats easiest to get to and for getting to places aswell...around the hay market area ! there was a stakis there but its changed names now..so possibly a radison or hilton..shop around...

Could be pricey but if you book more than 21 days in advance and prepay in full you get a discount.

Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh hotel

That apartment seems very cheap and it doesn't give a location. I think it will probably be a lot more than 70quid in june and probably booked up unless it is miles out of the centre and in the middle of a dodgy area.

If budget will stretch then the Witchery on the Royal Mile is spectacular.
Stayed there after our wedding - and several times since. Alas the arrival of small baby prevents going back for the time being

Have you got an Address for the Apartment?

It could be down Leith Walk, which is not too bad depending on which end??

The Lady Nairn Hotel isn't too bad, it's a Premier Travel Inn. Local Pub Downstairs, food is not great, Breakfast OK. Your a 5 Minute Cab ride from the Centre & you won't pay a fortune.

I tourist season Edinburgh is like a lot of Capital Cities, rip offsville, but at least they smile at you when they rereive you of your Cash.

If you like "intersting Places To Drink in" try Frankensteins in the Royal Mile.

Good luck, I hope you enjoy yourself.
