Here's mine housing Defi controller and mini Ipod.
Forester pocket with flap cost's about £15 and may require drilling of the side brackets to fit.

Pocket is an exact match.
The original double din is held in by a load of crews in the front and 2 smal metal brackets attached to the sides.
You need to unscrew these brackets and attach then to the the new single din. There should be various predrilled holes already in the brackets and the screws you removed should fit into the din.
The pocket has plastic lugs that locate into holes of the bracket, occasionally the bracket won't have the correct placed holes so out with the drill and Bob's your uncle.
It's all in the FAQ

I don't have a picture, but I did mine two weekends ago. And believe me if I can change the headunit anybody on the planet can! When it comes to car DIY I am the worst! The newage is really simple if you check out the link the FAQ there is how to remove the surround and install a new unit.
