Thanks to the efforts of a lot of people, especially John Felstead (hope the car is fixed and working soon John !!!), Pete Croney, Harj and Tim from Listers, for taking passengers round, and a few others whose names i dont know, £1000 was raised for Children in need today!
Was a very succesful day, no major accidents, couple fo grass excursions, no names mentioned![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Hope i am not out of place posting this before the real heroes, just thought it was really good

£1000 is GREAT news!
Well done to John (Top Job Mate!), Pete Croney and Mike Tuckwood (Both of whom gave countless tanks of fuel and tyres to the cause), Harj / rsquire for the supply and running of Rich's 22B, Don Palmer for taking over from John, Donington for all the effort and expense, and everyone who paid for rides with us all.
Oh and Ian... Have you forgotten my name then!!!!![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Cheers
Simon

I am very pleased to say the Children In Need fund raising day at Donington was a great success, I am quite stunned by how much support we received.
There are many people I would like to thank, but in particular I am extremely grateful to the Staff of Donington Park who collected all the funds on our behalf. I would also like to thank them for allowing 4 of our cars to have open access to the track. They gave us £800 worth of free track time, which increased our fund raising abilities massively.
I would also like to thank the following in particular for helping make the day such a success.
Richard Squire for the supply of his stunning 22B
Harj Singh for not stuffing the above mentioned car![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Myself for the same
(shame I blew my westfield’s turbo)
Rob Mac for explaining so clearly how the system would work
Pete Croney for bringing his stunning rally car
Mike Tuckwood for bringing his immaculate Sti5
Don Palmer for taking over from me with his Caterham Superlight R, very impressed with this car!
DocJock for being so enthusiastic to run his car for charitee (mate
)
Stef for the same reason as DocJock
Sticky Pete for making the stickers for the cars
Simon De Banke for showing us how not to cool down Impreza brakes![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Tyres Northampton for providing yet again a first class support service.
There are so many more people who deserve a mention, sadly I am crap with names but good with mugshots, you know who you are.
We managed to raise a staggering £840 at the track, many of the drivers met at a pub after the track action had finished and between us we managed to increase the sum raised to a nice round £1000. Considering they had also paid for all the fuel, brakes, tyres and one track session themselves already, I think this deserves a special thankyou.
Below is a copy of the paying in slip I will use today, I will post a copy of the paid in stub tonight, just to prove I didn’t spend the money on a new turbo![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
A big Thankyou to everyone who was involved in any capacity, for an idea that popped into my head whilst reading the BBS, I think it has been a great success!!![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)

Way to go guys - £1000 is a great effort.
A top morning, shame I had to pop away for the afternoon session or my wallet would be even lighter.
Definately something to run again next year - given a bit more time for planning I would think we could beat a grand (more cars, more publicity etc etc).
Well done again.
Chris.

Hat's off to John Festead for oganising this. I was glad Scooby Mania were able to contribute to such a worthy cause.
Well done to all those who paid for runs.
Myself and Simon didn't stop all day, I had to sneak out (with permission) during the lunch break to give my own son and his pal a ride)!
Clocked up over 340 miles! 1 set of pads, 1 set of tyres, 8 bottles of octane booster, 4 tanks of SUL Etc. Etc.![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
Was still out on track when the final whistle blew. What a sight at dusk seeing the huge flameouts of that Skyline.![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
Thanks to Sticky Pete for the stickers and everyone who was involved, another Great day at Dono.

Who would have thought that raising money for charity could be that much fun?
Stef took me out for a few of his patented extra sideways laps.
Best laugh I've had in ages, especially the rallycross lap. ![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Hope the Westfield is running again soon John.
Perhaps see some of you at the Network Q rally at the end of the month.
Andrew.

Thanks Jamie.
Sounds like my turbo got so hot the exhaust blades expanded and hit the housing, causing them to snap off and knacker the turbo.
taking it to the specialists who made it for me on Saturday to check it out, see what the damage is.![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif)
I was really disapointed for the people who wanted a run in the beasty, you are all welcome at the next track day for a run for free, i'll let you know when i am up and running again.
Jamie gets priority though, she always will.

John F, thanks for getting the ball rolling for Children in Need. A great day. Brilliant weather, and thanks to all those who donated their cars for a day of merciless thrashing, and at no small cost to themselves.
We made it a family day out, and all had a fabulous time. Highlights: Mrs Hoppy screaming hysterically in Pete's Scoobysport, mistakenly believing she was perfectly safe; Miss Hoppy in Stef's Scoob "he's much more fun that you Dad, he goes sideways everwhere;" Evan Hoppy Jnr in the V8 Westie, "bloody hell it's quick!" But he's been out in it twice now, and both times he's had to complete the lap on the back of the trailer!
Highlight for me was avoiding the brake-less Scott Davies as he shot accross the grass through the Esses. He came to apologise - we were both shaking!

Agree with all of the above comments, absolutely great day.

Met one or two people did three/four rides but just too late to grab a run in the Westi. Those charaters that closed jn 15 M6 slip have something to answer for.
Hope you work it out John, I'll take you up on the offer of a ride next time...kept me token just in case![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Simon, pity I didn't meet you I'd have loaned a helmet & a couple of tenners. Didn't spot the car either but there again in a sea of blue Scoobies a Terzo is not that prominent!

What a great day !!!
And it has been all said already, but 10/10 to John F for sorting the CIN thang. 1k is a great result.
.. and 10/10 for all the guys (you know who you are) who gave up their time/car/money etc. to provide rides for this cause.
My thanks to Rich/Dirk/Curtis from PS for the rides in the Scooby (coming along nicely) and to Iain Litchfield for the giggle in the GTi-R. Dirk's small rallyX display on the start/finish straight was fun![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Special thanks to Chuckster for allowing Simon to 'borrow' your car to take me around in a 22B. After a no fear/no lift drop down Craners, Simon keeps his rally drive again this year
![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
And of course to Harj for the most comfortable and pleasant drive around Dono in Richard's 22B and to John for the ride in his 'wagon'. I got to say, the 5-door does feel a little more planted. John got right into the CIN thing by having a small Pudsey rolling around in the footwell
![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Again, great day.
Cheers

Seriously, i am very proud of the way Harj handled the responsibility of giving so many passenger rides in your 22B.
He is far less experienced of driving on track than myself and he drove in a manner that was very safe, yet gave everyone who sat with him a memorable experience, top job Harj!

What a great day.
Richard gotta agree with JF, Harj was giving plenty of entertainment when he took me out. Well done m8 ! Nice lines (esp Coppice) and respecting your car. It feels so stable under braking and sooooo much grip.(but then you know that
)
Watty you were supposed to sit him on your lap !! He can't see over the dashboard otherwise !![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
JohnF your idea turned into an fantastic day.Think what you would have raised if your beastie had been well. Hope it mends soon.
Apologies to all for the dirt on the track between Craners and the old hairpin.
Thanks to Stef for deflecting attention from the grass on my car ![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)

What did I say ?
![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
Does that mean a drive for next year is open ?![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
What I meant was that Harj drove very smoothly. In fact I commented in the car that his lines and technique had much improved from the first time he drove at Dono earlier in the year.
What I didn't mean was that he was driving was slow or boring, just smooth.
DocJock, sorry, Pudsey was resigned to the footwell as you didn't supply a harness for him and I thought he would be safer down there, under my feet![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)

From my experience at the Ring and the professional tuition I had has completely changed the way I drove before, now all I do is try to find a parralell line where ever on the track.
