Question ROAD ANGEL PLUS PROBLEMS?

Has anyone got one of these? Had mine 5 months and tonight switched it on on the way home from work and the screen went a lilac colour and wouldn't work or switch off, I tried resetting it but nothing. Just checked it again and it's now switched itself off and seems to work again. Anyone else had any problems?

Also does anyone know for sure if the laser detector works? I've only driven past a camera van a few times, but it didn't go off (wasn't speeding mind so I might not have been targeted) .

Cheers

I have the RA Plus. Lilac screens flashing red indicates a firmware corruption.

Yeah, just follow the instructions as it involves plugging and unplugging the unit while updating.

Thats is the thinking unless it happens to pick up scatter from the car being targeted in front. I don't rate laser detection on any detector, it's just a bonus if it helps.

Thanks firmware upgrade seems to have done the trick.

I think any laser detector would be lucky to detect anything before you get caught, unless you're lucky and pick up a scatter fom a car in front. Laser detector definately works though I got the unit too close to my dvd in my laptop and christ did it make me jump! Not sure if it would stop me getting a ticket but I'd probably jump 10 feet with the sudden noise, and crash.

Since I got this I think it has really helped me keep the speed under (or on) the limit, the display is at eye level on the screen and has a big blue screen showing the speed.

Did it shout:

LASER! LASER! LASER!

because mine did when a cop car laser parked on the opposite side of the motorway came through my drivers window and under the dash in my van and set it off.

I nearly swerved of the motorway and crashed, it scared the life out of me!
