Hello Everybody,

I posted a thread two days ago about wanting to purchase a scooby but was worried about the cost and me only being 20!

I still desperately want one, but i have had some very good advice of getting some insurance quotes first. I know it is going to be a killer for me, at my age, but, i think, it is going to be money well spent

Wondered if anyone could recommend good insurance groups for scooby's.

Thanks Creamyegg (previously curlywotsits)

have a look here:

http://www.markuswarren.co.uk/cars/i...ancetable.html

for a list of people who, at the time the page was last updated, insured scoobs. now I should add that this is the list of people who would insure modified jap imports

most normal companies should quote. Tesco's are meant to be quite good.

though your age will probably be a major discriminating factor against you, as I think some/most insurers will require you to be 25 before they'll insure you and if they don't require this you're going to be paying at least £1000 if not £2000 plus! I'm 26 with 4yrs NCB, modified jap import and I'm paying 1400 quid (am with Schofields)

Might be worth talking to Tom (Rum* on here) at schofields, he might be able to help, his number is: 0113 250 0377

Well of course there are loads, but my personal favourite is Tom at Schofield. 0113 250 0377. They used to best the best for just P1's etc, but I understand that they are dealing with the whole range now.

The only way to get around the insurance issue (but not by much) is to go downstream. I've got an Impreza Sport (i.e. non-turbo), with all turbo mods (inc seats, high spoiler, speedline alloys and ScoobySport exhaust - sounds gorgeous...). The unmodified car quote for me (at age 23 with 2years no claims) and my girlfriend(20) was £1250. I have to pay £250 extra for the mods, but only Scooby owners know that without the vents is a non-turbo.

Only real downer

Unhappy

I'm more than happy to have a chat and try and point you in the right direction.

Unfortunately we are now restricted to over 25's...

Give me a ring on 0113 250 0377 if you want to have a chat about it...

All the best

Tom
