> that cant do more then drive in a straight line
What planet are you on? MkII escort, most successful rally car ever.
280bhp? Few options. 2.7 litre diamond block millington engine would just drop straight in that would be lots more than that I think. Vauxhall 2.0 litre redtop fits, can get up to 280bhp easily. New 2.3 litre Ford Duranails are doing nearly 320bhp allegedly. And the original rally car option, 2.0 lite alloy block BDG, would do around 280bhp.
I love the Q car look. Rusty old mkII, **** loads of power and go and look for someone to annoy
hours of fun.

Strange about the "rear brakes" though as anyone in thier right mind knows that a rear disc conversion is a must.
Not forgetting the fronts aswell, along with suspension mods.

One of the best cars I ever had for "playing" was a Mk11 Lotus Cotina, painted Silver fox, no Lotus stripes.
It looked EXACTLY like a Cortina GT from the inside, and like almost every other Cortina from the outside, apart from two very small Lotus badges on the rear wings, and a badge the size of a bus ticket on the bootlid, saying "Twin Cam". Excellent "Q" car, the induction roar from twin 40 DCOE Webers was louder than the exhaust![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
108 bhp standard, mine ran about 120! Not much by today's standards, but keep in mind that the GT version was 80bhp, and my dad's Mk111 2 litre GT was 98bhp!
