Fake P1's
Hi All.
Im soon to buy a P1.
Iv heard a few rumors that theres a few Impreza's being passed off as a P1. So hence to increase there profits on the sale.
Arrrrghhhh. I would hate to have spent hard earned cash on a Impreza P1 to find out i had been ripped off and bought a modified RB5 or Type RA, (Not that theres nothing wrong in buying these car's as they are still amazing machines).
Apart from looking at the V5 logg book,MOT certs and also apprently checking the springs to see if it has "Subaru Uk" stamped on it, How could i find out?
Also theres a P1 in my local Subaru dealer for 14k(Over priced?), with just under 50k on the clock, apprently non abused, Full service historie, unmolestid hpi clear ect. But one thing that does bother me is that the gear **** was so warn out that the black leather is dull gray and the numbers ontop of the gear **** are mega warn out and very hard to read, Could it be clocked?
Iv had a bit of advice about this from my Gf's brother in law who used to work at prodrive Warwick, is this correct?
Any thought's and advice please?
Cheers.

It would have to be a seriously modded RB5 to pass as a P1
different amount of door and colour

As mentioned P1s only came in 2 door so it would not be possible to replicate this with a WRX, RB5, RA etc. The only other 2 door is a Type R and although cheaper than P1s in no way inferior. However these are import only and not UK spec.
