inyour experience what are your thoughts to selling your scoob privately, have sorted a WR1 and need to sell my 53 plate WRX, car has few mods but nothing major, done 35K was thinking 10-10.5K

putting them in autotrader/pistonheads have you guys moved them quite quickly if they were at the right money?

It's a buyers market!

Best of luck with the sale.

It took me almost a year to shift my mint and very well mod'd WRX PPP, so good luck. I got some interest from AT, none from PH and nothing much from here until a local guy whom appreciated the benefit of buying from a fellow enthusiast rather than a lieing two faced dealer made an offer. I sold it last September for £11k. Click on "my scoob"....

....and see how yours compares. You may drop lucky and get a buyer immediately, but almost everyone I know who's sold a Scoob in the last 2-3 years has struggled.

I don't mean to be the messenger of doom, but if you were in the market for a 53 plate WRX would you be looking to pay £10-10.5k to a private seller? You can get a brand new one for £15k with warranty, 35k less miles and the safety of a dealer purchase.

You're going to have to think carefully about this one. At the moment you are paying insurance, MOT, tax, interest on a loan(?), lost interest on capital, servicing and depreciation and you have the worry of something happening to it while you are trying to shift it. By all means advertise for the price you want, but if it doesn't go quickly (and bare in mind most people are not flush with cash at the moment) be prepared to drop the price a lot. Holding out for months for the right price will prove a false economy.

thanks for the info,I do realise what your saying about the value of my current car, although I think this forum has some exceptionally cheap cars offered within it, autotrader is probably best as you tend to get less enthusiasts who are more likely to make the mistake i made i.e not buying a STI in the first place!

was really more intrested in how long you had your car for before you sold, I have vitually agreed to buy another vehicle, and whilst for a short time I can have two on the drive, I certainly couldn't for a year!!!!!!,

cheers
