Question

Does anyone know of some good import company’s?
I am trying to find a STI, really would like a 1997 onwards (I believe they are a face lift model but I could be wrong!) am new to these monsters you see!

I have noticed a few in Top Marques which are for sale in Ireland (just been imported I think), are there any difficulties or things to look out for in buying a car from over there??

What sort of money would I be looking at for a 1997 STI?
If anyone has any experiences on importing a car or any comments what so ever they would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Wink

I have an imported Subaru Impreza STi Version 5 Type R - 1999. I bought it from Town End Garage Ltd., which is near to where I live, I have bought quite a number of parts off them and also had some mods done as well.

I was speaking to them the other day and they mentioned that all the cars they tend to bring it at the moment are pre 1997 - this is due to the changes in the Single Vehicle Approvement test that all imports have to have. This changed recently and for 1997 cars onwards you need certain certificates to prove the safety etc. Alot of hassle as far as I understood.

You could give them a try www.townendgarage.co.uk as they are always importing Subaru's and they are all in excellent condition. If you give them a ring they are always willing to give advice. 01524 733837.

Hope this helps as once you have driven an imported Subaru you will never want to drive anything else!!

Impreza Babe.
