There is a wealth of info on the board if you do a search, but for the moment here are a few pointers:
Check the usual things - condition of paintwork / alloys / interior. This should give you a good idea of how the car has been treated.
Steer clear of anything that has been highly modified - you will find it difficult to insure and there could be a question mark over engine reliability.
Check the price guides - prices have taken a hit over the last 6 months, so don't pay over the odds. Mileage makes a big difference.
As a rough guide - a UK Turbo MY00 from a main dealer in good condition - you should be expecting to pay around £16000. It does vary though, so shop around - drive a few before you make your decision. Full service history is a must.
Don't know where you are in the country, but my local dealer Cheam Motors are very helpful. Details at www.cheammotors.co.uk
Hope this helps.
Cheers
