would you go for a 1997 wrx 335bhp or impreza type r 300bhp 1997?
hi all,
i have seen 2 subarus for sale, one is a wrx 1997 70,000miles fsh, quick shift, uprated gear box, 6pot calipers all round, straight through exhaust etc, loads of mods done to engine, 335bhp remapped by bob rawle i think in mica blue.
or
impreza type r 555,sonic blue, 1997, around 70,000 miles, a few mods done to the engine, around 300bhp,fsh etc.
both stunning scoobys but cant make my mind up. the impreza wrx is £6300 and the impreza type r is £7200.
please help

Type R:
3 doors, short gearing
Ballistic performance, stronger base car in every respect other than brakes
Rare and great looking (would be my choice)
WRX:
Opposite to the above, but a lot spent on it and well mapped etc makes it very interesting.
My ££££ would be the Type R and a few more mods!

If you want to put your family in it WRX, if you want to drive like a loony Type R . In fact I'd buy a cheaper family runabout and still buy the Type R .
Insurance might have a bearing, get a quote for both and don't forget to declare the mods on the wrx. A-Plan do a very good price for subaru insurance. Whichever you go for I'd spend 150 on an AA/RAC check.
