Why are the back seats always full?
Can`t help with the power to weight ratio can it?

Great reply, we were all young once. I think most of the time the lads know their going to get beat, they just want to see how fast your car is.

i live in the countryside, i have a MY05 WRX PPP and always get boy racers up my **** around the town centres, revving, when they pass, driving at 50 etc in a 30 zone but as soon as they get out into the country lanes their rally driving ability falls to bits......... only one reason there are no bus stops with kids in to watch them!
not sure im making myself clear as im knackered but hopefully you will get the jist of what im saying!
cheers

Just sold my subaru so now I can say............I ragged the **** out of it whenever I could .....The engine never went bang and the car never missed a beat.......with around 340horses and 315lbft thats not all bad
I loved putting my foot down whenever there was the smallest straight ahead and would never be beaten off the lights by anything.
If I was cruising along the motorway and something mildly sporty such as an Astra VXR came past, that was it, down to third, on his bumper pushing him along......
Have never had any points on my license, have full no claims yet I drive like a loon because thats how I like to drive......***** out, foot to the floor mental.
All the morons that don't like driving over 4k should sell their car and go buy a TDI of some-sort.....
I'm no "boy" racer or chav......i'm a slightly older generation of performance enthusiast that's on a misson to put them all in their place.....
letting them sometimes go first, passing them with the five-knuckle-shuffle out the window and laughing.......soon wipes any smile off their face and makes them think twice before doing it again.....
The difference?
I can own up to driving like this without saying, "Oh I just let them get on with it and laugh when they pull off....." or "I now understand why fast cars drive on the inside lane, because they have nothing to prove" muppets.
I'm the kind of bloke to tell his girlfriend to shut up when they huff and tut next you to when YOU decide, **** it, lets go....Not just laughing and saying, "I've got no point to prove...." when you secretly thought...******* little b@stard, if she wasn't here.....
LOL

On the note of backfire. I used to have a VW Golf mk2 with Carb when i was 17. Great fun revving it till it screams let go of the throttle and switch the engine off as the rev hit 1000rpm from 6000...........Bang...... Back fire. But be warned it doesnt do no good to the distributer.

Do actually get it quite a bit, i can only think it's because i am a female driving an STI.
Had on bloke (NOT CHAV) pull up and ask me why i didn't drive a woman's car and give the hubby the STi.
He got a few choice words and a sharp hand signal, as the car is mine not his. So ti's not just chavs that have a death wish, but i must add it must be a male thing, never had a woman challenge me at the lights/junctions

this boy racer question makes me wonder some times...i mean, i was 17 once and it was an alfasud 1.5ti cloverleaf i had at the time . i ragged it about everywhere and goaded the odd cossie owner (usually much older at the time) it went fast (but not as fasty as it rotted ) anyhow, i always think people forget their young roots and write off these young enthusiasts. they could easily be spending their time breaking into your house or drinking wine on a street corner shouting abuse at old ladies etc.. youthful exuberance (or confidence ) usually leads them into the thought that they can keep up or have a go ! i for one dont really mind. most of the time they wave or a thumbs up . certainly no more than that ! remember what you were like then ?? i never done any harm and i am sure i am not the only one to have been like this either ?? they will probably grow up to have cars like evos, skylines, scoobies etc etc. like most of us and i hope they remember where they came from(not geographically of course !)
