Default Few newbie questions.

Hi.

I am new to Subaru's and also new to turbo'd cars so dont laught at my questions please lol.

Well first of all if I add a BOV and an induction kit will I need to get my car remapped also for it to run well?

I have been researching and seem to find that most people have troubles with adding BOV's and induction kits without having a remap after it.

Furthermore is it better to just get a panel filter or just go ahead and get a induction kit ( Does look better in the engine bay lol)?

Also, what are the best induction kits or panel filter to go for on a 01 WRX bugeye and also the best BOV to go for?

Thanks

Chris

So upgrade to a Green cotton panel filter? Is that the best one?

What would you recommend for me to get to add a bit more power?

I have a 01 WRX bugeye. Everything standard performance wise apart from a NUR- SPEC cat back exhaust system.

Panel Filter
De cat?
FMIC?
Remap?

Cheers

being based in Scotland, I would suggest you speak to the highly respected Andy Forrest.

AndyForrestPerformance

I doubt very much whether BOVs' and the like would be his recommended route though! very much depends on 1) your budget and 2) what levels of performance you are trying to achieve.

personally I would suggest you look at handling mods first, then engine mods later.

Well want to achieve anything between 300-330bhp.

Yeah I have been looking at his website and researched into his work etc a little bit.

What performance mods would you recommend to get to reach the above target?

Ok thanks for the advice.

Handling mods such as?

New suspension? Coilovers?
Strut braces? Front and rear?
New ugraded bushes ?

Thanks
Chris

Green cotton panel filters should be good for the 330 bhp you are seeking. I went for the TSL Green (Group N) panel filter.

handling wise, Whiteline products are highly regarded. Suggest Rear Anti roll bar, alloy drop links. anti lift kit etc etc.

dont rush into anything , and do your research first. Have a look at the websites for TSL, Zen Performance and Powerstation (particularly for their handling mods)

Zen Performance - Performance upgrade solutions for Japanese cars

TSL MOTORSPORT | Subaru Mitsubishi Peugeot Classics | parts | repair | servicing | performance tuning | UK

PowerStation

Back issues of Japanese Performance magazine, featuring various Scoobys, can also give a good indication of methods used to achieve Power gains and handling improvements
