Default Getting a spare key sorted

I just bought a JDM with only 1 key

What's the easiest way to get a further key cut

It has a toad alarm fitted (separate functioning fob) so dont believe the fob bit actually functions (correct be if im wrong!) on the key.

Ive had a search through cant find a specific answer

Cheers

If the immobiliser bit in your key is needed your local 'key cutting' shop can 'clone' the original - prices vary!!

The key supplied is a fob key but he put tape over the buttons- it has a seperate toad fob-

Im now wondering if the fobkey does the immobiliser and the toad fob is the alarm??

If so neither of the above keys would work would they?

Trev,

my original key just opens and closes the doors.

I use a STI key like the one above as my main key, with the central locking controlled by my alarm (which as you know, locked me out the other night!)

I got these cut, for free luckily, because although they start the car it immediately cuts out (immobiliser?)

therefore the key fob must be active- so how do i get this cloned for the spare?

When I bought my car it was fitted with an immobiliser touch pad on the dash which had to be touched with round barrel before you could start the car(a right pain). So I had a Viper alarm fitted which has three immobiliser circuits,so all the other immobiliser circuit was ripped out.Alarm and door locks all operated from one fob.

If you have an immobiliser operated from your key I would have thought that the engine wouldn't start at all with the other key.
