Aftermarket fog lamps
#1
Hello all
I have had enough of the crappy lighting ability of the standard lamps on my Scoob Turbo (MY00).
What is the best replacement and at what cost? The only choice I know of are the Scoobysport ones (Cibies?). Are these (or any other makes) easy to fit? How much difference do they make?
Thanks

Have replaced the fog lamps with PIAA driving lamps - dont have any technical details(leave that to the old man) but they are excellent.
Pick out all the deer on our country roads before they jump out in front of you. There have been numerous threads in the lighting section - check the archives - and these cover the various options, costs etc.

Don't put them on when it's not foggy then.
The driving lamp conversion is different BTW, the lights will only come on when you activate high beam, you can't use them when on Dipped, so it stops you blinding everyone.
Ps I know it's normally BMW drivers that seem to 'forget' to turn their front fogs off but I had a Scooby coming down a country road towards me last week, the Scooby fogs glare the other drivers *far* worse than any other car I've seen, blindness springs to mind.

I too have PIAA's and they are superb.
The only trouble is that when you dip, you feel like you are plunged into darkness cos your eyes are used to driving in virtual daylight, and the std lights are so crap. I have actually checked I haven't accidentally switched from headlamps to sidelights.
