Sti RA GC8F4DD 555 V.5 '99 anyone got one???
Trying to find an owner of a Ltd Edition 555 WRC, 1999, Version 5, Sti Type RA (GC8F4DD) to chat too, plz.
I am currently in the process of buying one but am cautious of getting stitched up.
Seems like the Sti Type RA & the Sti Type RA 'Ltd Ed' both have the same Model Number???? how can i be sure i'm not buying a face lift????
Do these models generally come with ABS/Power Steering/Electric Windows & Mirrors/Intercooler Spray/NO Sound Deading/AirCon?????
If i opted not to go for the 'Sti' Version, would I notice a difference???
ENGINE REBUILDS!?!? - is this a Good / Bad sign????? or should i opt for one with all original bitz???
....and finally, do you reckon i could increase its value if i was to remove the WRX sticker off the Boot!?!?!?!?

I've got one and if it is genuine then it should include
Roof vent, DCCD, I/C waterspray, electric windows and mirrors, climate control
Also it should have a plaque on the centre console stating the build number out of 1000 (if it is a version 5) and ltd edition blue seats with WRC stitching stating STI - Subaru World Rally.....

As rooferman says, only really cosmetic changes. No difference in drive and power output. You will know a version 6 as the text stitched into the seats is different, there is a blue surround on the centre console and instrument pod IIRC, you will need to depress the clutch to start it and the rear spoiler is taller with a lip onthe end. Also a slightly different front splitter - although a lot of 5's had the 6 front splitter anyway.
They could be ordered new without the splitter/ side skirts or with - so again some differenced in apprearance externally.
As for rebuilt engines - definately a good thing - so long as it has been built by a reputable place and they have uysed quality components
