Yep!
Check in your alarm/security handbook and everything you need to know is in there. It's done via the security keypad located near your right knee.
Just done it myself myself as it happens.

From last time I answered this question.....
MANUAL
CODES
Google is your friend![Idea](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/idea.gif)
Best feature is the auto-lock. Switch on ignition but do not start engine, plip your fob button so the LED flashes once, press "4" on keypad, switch off ign. From now on the doors will lock automatically when you start the car. If you do not want them to lock, for example whilst defrosting windows, then leave a door open whilst starting up. To disable this feature, do the same but press "5".
You can also temporarily disable the fobs from working if you're going to leaving the car at home whilst you're away on holiday so if burglars break in and get the keys they can't take the car. Upon your return you simply open the door with the key triggering the alarm and enter your PIN on the keypad.
To leave the car parked with the windows down slightly on a hot day, before turning off, or with the ign on but not running, just press the fob button. The LED should flash (I usually have to do this 2-3 times to be sure it works) and you can then exit the vehicle and when you plip to lock and activate the alarm it will flash 8 times instead of 4 to tell you the ultrasonics have been disabled. It will revert to normal automatically, so you need to tell it each time you want to use this feature.

OE Alarm Sam would have been able to give you advice on this matter, but he has been banned by the moderators at ScoobyNet.
Being the designer of the standard fit Subaru alarm system and working for the manufacturer, his posts in response to forum users alarm queries were deemed to be of a commercial nature, gaining brand exposure for his product and so he has been asked to cease posting alarm advice on the ScoobyNet forum, unless he became an authorised advertiser.
OE Alarm Sam has now moved to the Subaru Imprezza Driver’s Club forum where you should be able to get free technical assistance regarding the standard fit alarm system in the Strictly Technical section.

Just remember though, you must not be influenced by anything I say on here, especially with regards to a late 80's/early 90's VW coupe

Does anyone know if this is the same on a MY02 alarm?
Thanks muchly if it is, because I was having the horrible thoughts about car jacking the other day - and having locked doors gives you a second or two.

Your PIN number will (should) be with your alarm instructions and documents on some silver stickers IIRC. It is also usually on a metal tag attached to the keys from new. You can however reprogram it to a PIN of your choice (advised). As the above poster says, if you do not have your PIN then your dealer, or any S!gm@ (there, I said it
) alarm retailer should be able to sort it for you.
