The title says it all. I'm just asking about imprezas, not other models. Presume there is just one impreza production line in Japan, with all cars coming from that ?
Also, if there is more then one country of origin, is this info on the car, like the VIN plate ?

Currently all made in Japan I believe.
Hwever, GM's ownership has prompted suggestions that things could change in the longterm. Although that might just mean that other items get produced by the factory, rather than the farming out of Impreza production.

You say GM ownership, I once heard that Nissan had a large share in Fuji Heavy Ind and a rumour that BMW bought a small share with regards to borrowing tech and info for set up of their own 4WD the X5 any truth in this??

Nissan sold to GM, hence the sad appearance of the Traviq - a badge engineered Zafira w/2.2ltr engine made in Taiwan I believe.
The *partners* are now working on shared platform AWD products...
...very scary!!
Subaru was reportedly looking to GM for help on alternative fuel technology/fuel cells.

Nissan has been bought by Renault, not GM.
GM has either a 20% or 40% (can't remember) share in Fuji and this partnership is about sharing technologies (I can see why GM would want that, but Subaru???), hence the Subaru Traviq (happily just for the Asian markets).
I believe that all US Legacies are built in the former joint Isuzu-plant (now 100% Subaru) in Indiana.

Hi, I have the "You and your Subaru Impreza Turbo Book" from Haynes
Quote " All imprzas were manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industruies Yajima Factory in Ota City Outside Japan (The sole exception being an assembly line created to build Imprezas from knock-down packs in Taiwan from 1997)."
The book is on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...741959-0305213
And its great (for Trivia as you can see)
