I have also had my STi Type R 12 months!!

My last car was a CTR, they are uncomparable.

The CTR was quick but getting all that power through FWD was impossible, especially in the wet, would be spinning up the wheels in 3rd. I did used to enjoy the kick when the VTEC cut in though.

The power of the Impreza is so much more usable with it being 4WD.

Im possibly looking to stray away from the impreza, prob not the right thing to say on here. Dont know wether i would get bored of the civic and regret not buying a different impreza?

I had a 05 CTR for 2 years from brand new, and sold it a month ago getting a MY05 STI PPP.

No comparison to the scoob from a standstill start, cornering or in the wet.

But once they are moving and in that VTEC zone, they can surprise and upset alot of cars out there. I used to whoop BMW 330 CI's, Clio Sports, Audi TTs (225bhp), easy all the time. I even raced a Porsche Boxster who could not get away from me.

They are well decent cars, but the car I have now is just a different league. Would kill my old CTR in everyway.

I would say the CTR is the best of all hot hatches, proper raw car.

They are good cars. Better build quality than the Impreza and once moving would beat a lot of the lower spec Impreza's.

You have to drive it like you stole it tho. They are nothing special unless you keep the rev's in the VTEC area.

Due to the power going through 2 wheels they also eat front tyres.

"drive it like you stole it" and you will "eat front tyres"

had mine for 3 1/2 years only sold it because kids getting a wee bit big for climbing in and out of the back and relatively small luggage space.

yes you will miss 4wd but other than that a blinding car, superb build quality, i had the alignment sorted by ABP and it was soooo sweet, tracked it too, would keep up with standard impreza apart from inclined tracks, where torque is king. appreciate the purity of nearly 200bhp from a N/A engine mmmmm miss it some days. oh but dont expect too much of an improvement in mpg or insurance costs.
