First of all hi, I've just joined the site I have a 2001(Y) Subaru Impreza Sport ltd ed 2.0 and am looking to put an induction kit on it and was wondering what you would recommend and what going to complement the car the best

Trading it in for a WRX or STi would be the best mod route (sorry), but if you must spend your money then K&N's Typhoon seems well respected. Don't expect any more power as the increase in induction temperature will outweigh any increase in airflow, and the vibrations may damage your MAF sensor (do non-turbo cars have them
). The usual route for Scoobs is a performance panel as the existing induction system is already very efficient and hard to improve upon unless you're reaching the limits of airflow (which you'll be well short of).
As I always recommend, spend your money on handling mods if you want your car to be faster, then driver tuition and finally power increases.

yes m8 wont argue with that ?,i was realy implying about cone filters with cold air feeds, that would still draw in engine heat....
even when there heat shielded they still draw hot air..........the standard airbox of the impreza draws air from the front and straight onto the air filter protected by its housing, hense if you running a car under 300 bhp the stock airbox is fine with a free flow filter
