Default Forester 2.0 XT - newbie stuff and are prodrive wheels/roll bars worth hassle ?

I'm picking up an Forester 2.0 XT on Wednesday, and have some newbie questions.

1. Where is the best UK forum, everyone mentions Subaru Forester Owners Forum - Powered by vBulletin european section, but I cannot access this from either home or work, I either get page not found, or server busy ??

2. Are 17" prodrive wheels worth the insurance hassle ?
The car I have bought has them, and I figured it would cost a bit more on insurance, but not much. I'm currently with Elephant, who are charging an extra £20 till renewal for the wheels, but they only cover standard parts, so non of the options (sunroof, leather, wheels), would be repaired in a claim ??

I figured as these are dealer options, and are all Subaru UK supplied parts, that it wouldn't be a hassle, but maybe I was wrong - any thoughts or suggestions ! I read about A-plan for mod insurance, but wasn't sure if wheels are enough to put all the mainstream insurers out of the picture ?

James, that URL is correct, but it may be that you've got some sort of old entry on your computer from before the server changed. Try clearing the cache in the browser. If you open a command line window what happens if you issue the command ping www.subaruforester.org ?

Changing the rear anti-roll bar is usually considered the must-do option, a good wheel/tyre combo is also a huge benefit. Much more over there, if you are still having trouble with www.subaruforester.org then you'll need to say what browser you are using and the assembled might of Scoobynet can then assist...

Well that's the correct IP address anyway, and the ping output is fine.

Is this the only site that you are having trouble with ? I don't use IE myself, but I'm wondering if it is something to do with your security settings or cache settings. Did you flush the cache ? (Tools, General, Delete button in the Browsing History section, then choose Temporary Internet Files and delete those). If it isn't that then I'm stuck...

Thanks for checking IP.

This is the only site i am having trouble with, I have deleted temp files, and also tried from work and home, only difference is from work I get 'page not found' from home I get the forum view with a 'server busy' box in the middle.

Are there any other recommended forums for Forester info ?

The one you want is the one you can't yet have. I've asked over there in the forum technical section to see what other things might account for it, and I'll relay any advice.
