Extended warrenty
The WRX is coming up for its first MOT next month It wil also need a 20,000 mile service. I've received a letter from the local Subaru garage offering me an extended warrenty with roadside assistance, (which I wouldn't require as i'm with the AA but isn't available without this option) for .... £520 for the year!!! Is this the same price that all garages charge? How much could really need replacing on a three year old car that's not even covered 20k?
I'm thinking no thanks and actually chuckled when she said the price, but are there any horror stories I should know about? The car's going fine, the only thing that makes me wonder is on a morning when it's cold it sometimes has a funny metallic whirring noise while it's warming up (which you can only notice from outside the car). I'm planning on taking it in early for the service and mot though so they can have a look at this while the warrenty is still intact.
Anyone think i'm being hasty?

Imho it isn't worth it.
I renewed mine last year, and the dealers do try and wriggle-out of stupid things like, a diagnosis check isn't covered. And neither is the common flat battery syndrome.
But its your decision at the end of the day matey.

Absolute waste of money. If my engine went bang after 3 years having covered less than 30,000miles, i'd be banging on the door of Mr Subaru asking whether is that the expected life span of his engines?
Personally, i'd stick the money is a high interest account. If you need it, its there. If you don't, you get some nice interest.
