Default Is this a good deal? 99 Stationwagon with some Prodrive WR stuff

Hi all,

I'm going to pick up a 99 Stationwagon tonight. It's just passed the 80K mark, had 2 owners, is fitted with some of the WR kit, not 100% sure what in total, but it has at least the Prodrive exhaust, ECU upgrade, suspension work, will find out more later, but I know the total cast for around £6.5K

Basically, it's a friend of a friend and the car is currently owned by his business. It has FSH by Subaru it is in cracking condition, apart from a small amount of paint bubble on top of the windscreen.

They paid over 9K for it 2 years ago, and because they never use it anymore and the fact that it's on the business books, they are happy for me to have it for £4K. It was recently taken to Subaru and got throughly checked over to see if anything was needed doing and came back without any work needed.

Deal or no deal?

Deal.

Late wagon, FSH, PD extras. No brainer for that price. Check AutoTrader & PistonHeads to find a similar car/spec to compare prices.

Cheers Gaz, that's what I thought. Wasn't in the market for another car, just about to try and sell 2!

However, when I got offered this, it seemed bloody cheap, so can't turn it down. Can't wait to get back in a AWD Japo Tubby. I used to own a GTi-R back in the day! Bring it on!

I did check Pistonheads and found a big price range, but most of the similar spec'd PD cars are looking at the £7K mark on there for a similar age.

Rock N Roll!

£3k difference. That sounds about right. Nice bargain there.

Also had a GTi-R myself (273bhp). It was quicker than my scooby (280bhp), or it certainly felt that way. Saw off a few classics during the weekly commute i used to do.

Thought about getting another one. As a pure fun/track car, stripped and beefed up.

Wooohooooo!

I'm thinking "bargain of the year".

Took a look at the first delivery work sheet and the cost was just over £5700 for the following;

Air Con
Sunroof
Suspension
Performance Pack
Quickshift
17" Alloys

Now, the even better part is, the car was part-ex'ed back to the same garage (incidentally, it's always gone back to the same place for servicing since new) in 2004 and they decided to put new 17" Alloys on, which are the 2004 spec ones.

Me thinks lucky lucky. All this for £4K
