Rather hoping an Indi has a far better performance option (less reserve)

If starting from standard, then I'd say a full de-cat or a sports cat downpipe (to be safe) with a Green panel filter and a re-map should cost about that and give you 280-290bhp. PowerEngineering do a similar package (power pack2) to give you an idea.

Worth spending a few hundred quid on some Whiteline gear as well, though.

Just about sums it up nicely.. but a couple of finer points, choose your mapper wisely and only bother with whiteline rear drop links and roll bar (22mm adj or 24mm fixed). Fiddling with the front will only stiffen it up and negate the stiffer rear (stiffer rear reduces understeer). The exception is fitting a spring kit (prodrive or Eibachs). Then, probably most importantly, a good geometry setup..!

The other thing that needs addressing is brakes (especially at around the 280bhp the engine mods will produce) , so if you can budget for some decent front pads, all round braided hoses and fluid all the better (~£150)..

Decat exhaust (2.5" better than 3" upto 350bhp) good second hand ~£400
Green filter ~£40
Mapping ~£600 (group buy with Bob Rawle for instance..)
Drop links and roll bar ~£150 (EASY DIY fit..)
Eibachs ~£200 (iirc..?)
Full geometry ~£80
Front Pads ~£100
Hoses ~£45
Fluid ~£10

If the map is good (cough-Bob-cough-Rawle-cough) this little lot will give you one hell of an effective (real world) fast road car..
