Does anyone know if the Genome exhaust that Japanparts.com sell will fit an 06 Hawkeye STI. I've emailed them but they've no idea if it will fit a UK car.

Yes,i had a 2006 spec c with a genome back box.

Its taking an age on my pc for that list to come up but if its just the back box you wont have any problems, for the rest of the exhaust.... there use to be a difference due to the fact that the down pipe is different on the JDM cars, im not sure if the MY06 uk cars have overcome this with the redesign.

Next question is, has anyone had any dealings with Japanparts, good/bad?
and do you get stung for import duty on this type of thing. Bit of a long shot, but does anyone in the UK sell these exhaust.

I've ordered small items from Japanparts before - it took the time they said to be delivered, and I didn't get stung for import duty - but as I said, it was only a physically small item. I'd certainly use them again.

 

I "think" it depends on the value of the item, a 450 quid back box will take its 17.5% tax, a 20 quid item may not, but its been a while since ive ordered anything from outside of the country.

i haven't read the link off the thread fully so sorry if i'm wrong but it seems the hanger on the latest style b/boxes is different or something. maybe it goes on the JDM but the UK 2.5 use a different system?

 

..must admit,I'm still a bit confused.Think the silencer will be ok as its listed on Japanparts for 03-07 models.

 

fingers crossed mate, can't see it being different from 05- 07. but saying that, i can't see why it's different from bug eye to blob eye
