Question Sell or break??

Not sure if this is the right place/section to ask, but:

I'm asking those who had a tuned Impreza to sell, did you sell or revert the car to stock and sell the goodies to make the return?

I have a got-at Sti v3 that is not worth much stock, and nobody buys a modified car all ready to fly, but I might realise more if I break it?

Some thoughts please from those who have been there.

Thanks, Graham.

Graham, is this your own car your hill climb in??

If it was me i`d break it for sure, i did this with a cossie i had and made more than i would of if i`d of straight sold it, can be a bit of a ball ache breaking though, but worth it imo....

I would guesstimate that 75%+ of modded cars sold have ended up being put back to standard when I have seen them up for sale, parts being sold separately.

p.s. If your selling to go chasing that Audi V8 then I hope u have deep pockets

Thanks for the advice.
There is no point chasing the Audi.
I'm fed-up chasing cars in the hot saloon class, don't have the budget or the conviction anymore.
Thinking more along the 'special' route.
Need about 8K to do it, hence this question.
Thanks, Graham

LOL!

My bedroom is a right mess, full exhaust system, TMIC

p.s. If your serious in selling it, no harm in the first instance putting it up for sale as it is as you never know, someone wanting to get into hillclimbing it would make an ideal car to buy and just go!

Exactly:
Stock Sti V3 = about £4K
Bits about 3K tops
911 gearbox? about £1.5K

Car I want ready to race? about 4K tops from the States, trailer, about 1K

Loss? about £14K....
