an eventfull morning...
well.
car was booked in at powerstation this morning at 9.30 so leave home about 8.30 minding my own buisness driving down a piece of duel carrige way and come to a island with 2 lanes all the way round, i stick to left hand lane to go straight over and only doing about 30mph.
just as i leave the island in the left lane a wa&*er in a zefera coming from the right exit of island cuts me up and skimms my front bumber hes that close, so as anyone would do i blow my horn, then as soon as the horn goes on so do his brakes with me 2inches from the back of him.
ends up with a bent bonnet and nackerd bumper n grille.
police were called as guy was getting high rate as he was adiment he was in the correct lane
but good news is my car made just over 335bhp @1.25bar boost (seams low??) so chuffed with that (cheers andy) ,but gutted about my front end and poss loss of NCD.
and just to cheer me up seeing how things could be a lot worse....
this poor guy had his brand new spec c remapped to a healthy 350hp with totaly stock hardware wich the guys at powerstation were pretty chuffed with, then an hour after he leaves, powerstation get a call.. ooooopps
anyone on here gonna own up?

Luminous, assuming that the belts havent been damaged then it is indeed a straightfoward repair. Its a mess though isnt it?

you cant see in the pics but the n/s back 1/4 has been pushed right under and creased the floor pretty bad.
the n/s front wheel has been ripped out and looks like suspension mountings have been torn from subframe and looks as if the inner strut tower/flitch has been bent down where the strut has been twisted outwards.
and front corner has been pushed everything into engine so poss block/head damage
and both air bags have gone off.
id say being a spec c RA its wrote off as surely everything would have to sourced from japan. dont these have light weight body panels ect?

'Written-off' and not repairable arent the same thing.....
Even with the floor being damaged it can probably be repaired properly, although Id only be comfortable using the car for motorsport if its much more than a kink. That doesnt mean that it cant be properly straightened though; youll notice that the windscreen isnt damaged? Accident damage always looks worse than it is, remove the damaged panels and get it on the jig and itll look quite different... Speaking from experience; Id be far more worried about the NSR suspension, than I would about some dented panels and broken PU.....

Ouch, looks nasty Fingers crossed she'll be on the road again pretty soon.
Your car wasn't the only one in the wars yesterday. Thanks to some to$$er in a Rover 75 estate I caught a barbed wire fence along a narrow gravel path resulting the need of a new front bumper, n/s mirror and slight repairs to the n/s wing. Luckily it's just deep scratches/scuffing but still, it's something we could all do without

I can't believe the car will be repaired as all the arms underneath are badly damaged. Even the engine had been hit hard. Taken away today by the insurance company.
The driver was unhurt but it was a shame as the car was like new with just 5,000miles on the clock He wants another Type RA or RA-R to cheer himself up
