Bye bye 'prezas

Well, I've done it.
Decided not to replace my P1 with another scoob. I've had two now, first a UK spec, then the P1 - and I've decided I really can't live with the looks of the new shape. I don't care how beautiful ScoobySport try to make them - I still don't like them as much as the old shape. What an ol' stick in the mud eh ?
So I started looking for an R33 Skyline a couple of weeks ago. Drove an un-modded V-Spec two weekends ago - and thought 'nice', but not fantastic.
Then this weekend I took a trip up to meet a nice fella from Wigan, who'd agreed to meet me in Birmingham somewhere (halfway between us) to show me his somewhat mod'd up GTR (non V-Spec).
Oh my god. I travelled up with a mate of mine who has a somewhat tuned R33 V-spec himself. He estimates it's running around the 400 horsey's mark. As is the car I'd gone to see.
Absolutely brutal. It's SO quick compared to the ol' P1. I'm in love. Parted with the deposit this morning. I should be the proud owner of a nice GTR by the new year... Got to wait while the said 'nice fella' get's it a new MOT for me, and fixes a few squeaks from the front splitter, and an apparently dodgy starter motor (not that I noticed it when I did the test drive.)
FSH, full list of everything he's had done to it, receipts and all. A very well looked after car. The reason he's parting with it ? Not enough room in the garage once his Supercharged NSX arrives. Nutter

You know you've made the right decision.
Seems like there's a definite trend of Scooby to Skyline ownership .. hehe, bet nobody goes the other way though
If you're around the Northants way mate, gis-a-call and we'll meet up (I've got an R34 UK Bayside Blue)

Did about a fortnight ago when I decided I wanted a Skyline!
In fact, if you check in the For Sale: Private threads you'll find the Skyline I decided to buy, which belongs to Chris Lloyd...

Cheers Ian - much appreciated - but I've decided on the car for me!
I'd love to make it down to the Grasshopper - but it doesn't look like I'll have my wheels in time. Hopefully there'll be another meet in the new year which I can come along to...

Oi,
Croydon, what happened to Sutton then???
You'll be creating another new username soon called Cheam !
Bry is a M8 BTW, so feel free to slag off whatever he's bought etc.etc....
Matt
P.S. I dunno, these Skyline owners with their girly cars

Shut it Matt you cheeky slag!
What have I got eh? At the moment, technically nothing but I *will* have something like this in a couple of weeks...
'96 R33 GTR with about 50K on it, and a FSH.
It's been surgically modified with the following :
Nismo Paddle Clutch
HKS Mega Flow Induction Kit
HKS Iridium spark plugs
Blitz Access ECU
Uprated Turbos (bigger Garrets I believe, not sure yet though)
Increased boost from 0.7 bar to 1.0 bar
HKS Hiper Muffler back box
Cat bypass pipe (is this the same as the mid-pipe section on a scoob?) no idea who it's by, but I'm guessing HKS.
HKS Front pipes (down pipe equivalent?)
HKS 256 degree inlet, 264 degree outlet cams
HKS Vernier Pulleys (enlighten me someone?)
HKS Intercooler
HKS High Flow Turbo elbows (fantastic name, I didn't know cars had elbows!)
Ohlins springs on the standard GTR struts to bring it into the same category of firmness that V-Specs have...
The current owner reckons it's running about 420bhp. Certainly felt a LOT quicker than the standard trim V-Spec I drove the week before I tried this one.
Any more detail will have to wait till I've actually picked it up and leafed through the receipts and log book!

Just wasn't that impressed with the P1.
Frankly I regret buying it. Complete waste of money - should really have kept my UK and used the money I'd have saved on modding it to within an inch of it's life
