Question DO I KEEP MY ALLOYS GOLD OR GET THEM POWDER COATED IN A DIFFERENT COLOUR?

I am getting a bit bored of gold and am considering another colour. The car in question in a WR Blue, STi8 with gold PFF7's, as below:

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...1052006023.jpg

I understand that the alternative colour, generally is the 'flitter' colour? i.e. the silver/ grey/ anthrasite colour. Is this correct? If so, does anyone have any pictures of an equivlent car with the wheels in the alternative colour.

Cheers guys (and gals!!)

Depends what you want from the car... its all down to what makes you smile the most when you look at the car. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

If you dont want to be noticed then lose the gold and replace it for something more common like Silver (which every other car has).

If you enjoy the 2nd look alot of people give a nice looking Impreza (ie: yours) then leave the Gold.

IMO: Leave it as it is... it looks nice and is a feature that is an Impreza can carry off.

Is bright flitter different to anthracite? I understand that the PFF7's are a replica of the Prodrive wheels. Obviously I want them to look like the Podrive alloys so what colours are these available in as standard?

PFF7s are the prodrive wheels.... the replicas have been called PF7, but most now seem to just have another name and don't claim to be replicas.

Bright flitter is different to anthracite, it's not a flat colour and is a touch lighter. The only problem tho is nobody knows the actual paint code so difficult to achieve a spot on match.

I wouldn't bother trying to look like the prodrive alloys too much, it's obvious if they are not (no prodrive or flow forming wording inside the rim edge etc)... so just go for a colour you like.

My STI is Crystal Grey in colour and I changed the standard Gold wheels to Bright Flitter PFF7s. They are slightly darker than Silver but lighter than Crystal Grey. They also have a slight mettalic fleck through them.

Anthracite is darker than bright flitter, would lOOk nice on a blue car. Thought they would be too dark on my black one, so went for silver.

White would also lOOk the muts nuts on a blue.

If/when mine get scuffed, i'll get the powder coated darker, something along the lines of bright flitter.

Powder coat white. I'm loving white wheels on a WRC blue motor. Compomotive whites just look stunning. Before refitting them give a good coat of wheel butter stuff. Makes cleaning them a doddle - My (gold ) wheels were virtually black the other week - spray with a hose and it just fell off. I can find out the make of what I use if you like.
