I bought my first motoring magazine today, not out of interest but to gain some knowledge about CO2 emmissions from todays new vehicles. I have gleaned the following information from the new car price list:

Saints:

Toyota Prius 1.5 hybrid: 104 g/km
Toyota Aygo 1.0 vvti: 109 g/km
Diahatsu Charade 1.0 EL: 114 g/km
Kia Picanto 1.0: 123 g/km
Fiat Panda 1.1 Active: 135 g/km

Sinners:

Mitsubishi Shogun 3.5 V6: 339 g/km
Volvo XC90 4.4 V8: 322 g/km
Porsche 911 3.6 GT3: 307 g/km
Subaru B9 Tribeca: 291 g/km
Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2.5 (the car all you guys drive!!) : 257 g/km
Volkswagen Golf R32 4-motion technology: 257 g/km

To be frank the list could extend to well over 2 pages on this thread but I do not want to bore you all. Th fact of the matter is the car you all drive (the Subaru WRX STI 2500cc) produces 257 g/km, that my dearest friends is quite high, in fact it is comparable to a large 4 x 4 such as the Subaru Tribeca or Volvo XC90.

Save yourselves some money (and conscience) and buy one of the lovely saints cars such as the Fiat Panda Active. I promise you won't regret it. Byron Edmunds our Vice President downgraded from a Range Rover 4.0 litre to a Mitubishisi LS200, he took the step down and hasn't looked back since. Please follow his lead.

**** you, the is a car forum, we all love cars, in particular the impreza. I have to stand and teach about the environment, we did a whole school project on ways to reduce CO2, then I go out and drive my scooby and the kids love it - I never have to buy a copy of top gear, the kids all read it!
