Maybe he meant standard WRX TD05.

No. Td06 not suitable for WRX on std internals and without a remap is engine suicide.

Are you sure he didn't mean TD05....which WILL also require a remap .

You can fit a TD06 without a remap but i personally wouldnt recommend it as it will be sucking in a lot more air but not having the additional fuel to compensate thus causing it to run quite lean

well just to set the record straight..........
"swear to f*cking god kris, it's got a TD06 on it!"

no4 piston has gone down???
apparently he was on the M60 and a load of smoke came out and it grounded to a halt.

any ideas? it just seems a little odd to me someone would fit a td06 without a remap and other mods on a std wrx lump.............

'Silly' is the word I'd use. Now he faces a 3k+ bill to get the internals rebuilt to a std that would accomodate the Td06 and thats before you consider any supporting mods like an FMIC.

Your friend would be well advised to speak to someone like David at API.
