looking to get rid of my civic type r and get back on the scooby scene and found this on autotrader,is it just a ordinary wrx? just looking at the tiny intercooler makes me think very little has been done to it..............would it really be worth me haveing a look?

It's described as being an STI but I think it's just a WRX. The I/C looks as if it is a genuine STI item from the size of it but has no STI logo.

£18k is also a lot to have been spent on the engine, would have one monster setup for that, even with change left over for other bits like brakes.

At the end of the day mate 28 miles isn't too far to go for a nice sunday afternoon drive. It might be that car you've been looking for.

Andy.

thats exactly what i was thinking mate, surely it would have a front mount inter cooler and brembos at least!

and what exactly does "POTENTIAL OF OVER 4OOBHP" mean? surely any impreza has a potential of over 400bhp (depending on level of tune)

sounds like it would be a wasted trip

Is it just me or is there no mileage listed? It could have 200,000 on the clock for all we know, which may explain the price. In my personal experience, too good to be true usually turns out to be just that and usually isn't worth the time. That said, there's no harm in having a look!

Not an STI. Not got STI logo on intercooler, wrong wheels, side skirts not colour coded, not got sti logo on dashboard or shift light on the rev counter, not got water spay on intercooler and no button on the inside for the water spray...Wrong spoiler too!!! and wrong seats....hmm!, not got red top engine, not got sti steering wheel, not got sti around the gear gaiter, personally i think not an sti either.

and the badge on the passenger side, if you zoom in on the picture, is an SIDC badge stuck on!!! lol

I think its just a WRX personally...but go have a look!

As far as i'm aware, the only red STI you can get in the UK is an imported JDM Spec C.

Standard STI's don't come in red. And that car is definitely just a WRX.

Definately not an STi, no red top engine is the biggest give away, also its a standard WRX ic, you can tell from the bracket mountings using the inner mount.
5 speed gear box, no Brembo's etc.

Walk away
