After a year of owning my MY06 STI I fancied a change ... I got the car from new and have loved every minute of ownership ... however the constant issue of mods v's warranty has been a struggle, with warranty always winning ... had the opportunity to acquire an Evo VIII MR and I have taken it ... here are it's current mods :-
Apexi induction kit
Mongoose full decat
Hardpipe kit
Ecutek remap
Launch control
ALS mapped but not yet active
Flamer kit
currently running 351/350
It was a really tough decision but the Evo is mint and only has half the miles of my scoob ... and much more power ... and I have always wanted to own one.
I've no doubt we will own another scoob, we are still toying with getting a classic too, but only time will tell ...

Fiesty have to say that, after looking at the new Scoob, that in comparison the EVO is light years ahead.
Hate to say it, GM were bad news for SAAB and, possibly the same for Subaru.

I was really sad to see my scoob go
... it was a VERY hard decision and I almost didn't do it ... it has been such a big part of my life ... thought about keeping it and putting a new back box on etc, but seemed little point unless I went the whole hog and then the warranty would be shot ... but the evo is peachy and as soon as I drove it I loved it ... can't really compare it to driving my scoob because of all the mods, but love that feeling of raw power it has and the handling is rather nice too
... just trying to get used to the sound of the exhaust now ... as are my neighbours - even though it's not that loud
... and I had a few technical difficulties when trying to test the launch control (don't ask), so I am putting off re-testing that for a while!
Will still be going to the Northants scooby meets as we have lots of friends there ... and will probably still see my scoob there (for as long as Tim decides to keep it)

ALS & Flamer
Watchout if driving over The Chase for fire warnings.
Sounds like a nice Evo. I don't doubt i'll venture over to the dark side one day. When the force is not strong. (Although the R34's are bl00dy tempting too)

Not quite that bad ... every 4500 miles ... and not stupidly expensive either - thankfully!
I have been advised that the Evo clutch is notoriously delicate so as a self-confessed clutch rider and hoverer (yes, bad I know) I am trying to retrain myself to do neutral and handbrake at junctions etc - is like being 17 again (I wish!!) ... then again I learned to drive in a VW Polo and didn't know what an Evo or Subaru was, so I retract my wish
