Caliper lettering

Caliper lettering
Right, the first set of calipers I did the lettering myself
second time around, it looks like I let my 4 year old son to do them, using a 4" brush whilst having a hiccups fit
I know you can press a piece of painted wood on them, use a craft brush, etc etc, but does anyone sell the lettering itself. That way I can just paint the rubbish job I did and then stick them on.
The decals on ebay all seem to say they sell the lettering but not for the raised calipers (which mine are )
anyone have any bright ideas

Would be a bit dubious using stickers on my calipers
with the temps. reaching what they do. Honestly the best way
I used was a firm piece of smooth foam with a thin layer of paint.
Going to go over them with a small brush just to get the wee bits that
didn't get coated.

i did mine very easy.
just painted the whole thing red waited for them to dry then held a flat sander on the lettering to clean the lettering. then bought one of those paint in a pen sticks not the brush type the ones like a permenant marker but have paint in them just build it up in a few coats looks great and you can go over them every now and then very easy

Good ebay link for the rear decals
Can the clipers be painted on the car. I intend to use red hammerite (smootherite I think the non-nobbly one is called?) but noticed the company that does the decals does 250ml caliper paint too - would this be worth getting ?
I have an artistic 5yr old standing by to do the raised lettering on the fronts - I mentioned it jokingly just now and she's out sizing up the job. I expect a quote any minute !!

yes thx dave, but my youngest is only 4 and the difference between their artisitc skills to age 5 is quite marked..go into any classroom and you will see just how well the 5 year old's have come on these days in caliper painting. There is an advanced course they can take at key stage 3 but I cant wait that long

Nothing wrong with hammerite on brake calipers, just make sure you de grease them well first.
Smoothrite gives you the look you need, i used yellow on mine.

all very informative blah blah blah (cheers phil )
but lets recap :
1. I know how to paint calipers
2. I have done the lettering before in white paint and know all the techniques
3. I have done them again but this time I am not happy with my efforts
4. I want caliper decals/stickers whatever for my raised lettering
5. and I want them now
now if anyone (apart from cuprimoldave ) has some sodding good advice/links to where I can buy them I would be most grateful

get your self to HOBBY CRAFT shop, get some of that firm sponge block, you can them apply black paint to it then potatoe style press it on the raised letters, don't put too puch paint on at a time or it will smudge, two/three lighter coats are better than trying to do it all in one go.
