Evenin,
Just thought I'd post, to say what a difference it makes to lavish some TLC on your car!
Took the boost solenoid off, and all its pipes. Connected the green conectors, used half a bottle of brake cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the buggers out. Also removed the plastic air box from the wing and routed a cold air feed to my K&N.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! But hardly suprising after seeing how much oil pished out of the solenoid!! Pre cleaning, on the way back from Birmingham, on the M40 the knock link was like a Christmas tree. Post cleaning it barley registers, even on full attack at faintly ludicrous speed!!
A well running scooby is a wonderful thing!! Pop pop, bang bang!! Gotta love it!!!!

Its mounted on the left hand side suspension turret, (as you look at the car). If it's a 2 port type, then unsuprisingly there are 2 pipes coming out of it!! One pipe goes to a t-piece that connects to the wastgate, the other to the air intake pipe work.
Do a search, there are plenty of pics out there!!

The Rig - cheers mate! I guess each car has its own individual 'odd' characteristics!!
A question for the more technically minded - why does the Boost solenoid fill up with oil? Is it due to overfilling the engine oil? Would a catch can go someway to preventing this oil leekage?

That was a TOP TOP day!! I'm impressed! Were you there, sorry I'm really crap with names!!
I've still got a laminated copy of the page with my car stuck above my desk at work!!!!!
As for low posts, well. I guess there are 2 excuses really! One, I'm a lazy git who prefers to 'watch'!!!
Second, I try to only offer advice when I'm 100% sure I'm not talking tosh!!
I should really get some pics of my car up on the site, no excuses for that!!

The day was excellent - as you can see form the article there were some extremely tasty cars there! Escpecally Fatmanscoobs Type R (drool drool) and the 22B example that was there!!
The best bit was getting to hammer round the track once my rolling shots had been taken!! (the BTCC boys were there as well testing, which was fairly interesting!!!)
