New WRX question
#1
We're having a bit of a battle at work here with regards to the official moniker for the new Impreza.
Has Subaru dropped the Impreza tag in favour of WRX or is it still officially called 'Impreza WRX'.
Is it just the Turbo that gets called WRX or is the GL etc also called WRX?
Cheers

I do believe all Turbo versions are being called the WRX to help prevent or discourage grey imports like mine being bought........
The exceptions will be the UK300, STi etc, etc - but they too still have WRX badges on them IIRC........

As far as I know, the car is still called an Impreza (so we don't get confused with the Justy WRX ) but what was the Turbo is now the WRX and what was the Sport is now the GX. The 1.6 litre wagon is the TS.
Got this from the website www.subaru.co.uk and they've also got the UK STi - called the "Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type UK". So, I think the Impreza name is staying.

the impreza wrx was the original name (used in Jap, Oz & NZ)but it was renamed the turbo for euro markets
euro are just coming into line with the original name - its a global market remember
STi is the perormance company who get raw cars and modify them just like Motorsport does with bmw to get the m3

Yes, or across the hatch on an "estate" aka "wagon". It clearly says WRX, with Impreza underneath.
It is now a proper bit of "brightwork" used to be an iron transfer when they were the "Turbo 2000".
