People sometimes refer to their cars in talk as he or she or "Come on Girl"/"Come on Boy" if they talk to it while driving.

I kind of feel that the Scooby is a little too aggressive to be a she <P.C. Mode> not meant to be sexist </P.C. Mode> but then I am so attached to it that I feel a little strange thinking of it as a male because it brings out my underlying homophobic fears <P.C. Mode> Joke </P.C. Mode>

Yeah it's a car. The micra is a mule though and is referred to as such. As in, approaching any kind of upward gradient..
