bad luck follows me around!
i had a respray in January and then the car got keyed a couple of weeks later. then noticed that the back of the car was coloured in rust type spots. i could only assume that something was wrong with the paint. i took it back to the garage to have a hissy fit and got the bad news.....
i was told that it looked like tiny particles of hot metal had landed on my car. i had a think and realised that it was an angle grinder that had been used next to my car. the particles had rusted and started to eat the paintwork

Maz, it happened outside my house
i have given up on looking after my car, i tore the front bumper on a small bush in my drive just after it got keyed
so tomorrow i will be picking bits of metal out of the paintwork. i have been told to use rubbing compound. i think the smaller bits will be ok, its just the big bits i'm not so sure about
just to give you an idea how bad it is...the boot and rear bumper have thousands of metal particles attached to my car into
but i am still smiling

Eek! It's just another chapter in your anthology of calamitous capers, still smiling though.

Rather than DIY and risk fscking it up, thought of ringing a valet/detailing firm?
Might be worth a couple hundred to sort it out and bring out the magnificence.

Hi Sara,
Thats not good - the same happend to my car and its white! I used a Meguirs clay bar to lift the lumps of metal out then polished it back up, just need to be careful that you don't fill the clay then rub it on the paint and scratch it.
Good luck.
Chris

LOL Sara. You could make us all even happier by showing us the pic of you on your hobby horse.

My clio had lots of rust spots like you describe all over the rear hatch. It had never been anywhere near a grinder, it turned out to be brake dust!!!!
Yes i drove it like a hooligan.
