Only use V Power if I'm not near Tesco's - Higher Octane and "usually" cheaper than V Power!

V Power is the same octane rating at 99RON, the same as Tesco 99, plus has been proven to be better than the Tesco offering. And what's a few extra pence per litre?

i think tesco's 99 since feb this year is 99.7 ron and v-power is 99.1( if it makes any difference because they both cost too much anyway)

Where have you had those figures from?

Regardless of whether they are the same RON rating, there is a lot more to how a fuel performs than just its stated octane rating.

Calorific value, burn rate etc. all have to be taken into account. I've read that the Tesco 99 stuff has quite an aggressive burn rate which isn't favourable for mappers when they're trying to dial in extra adavnce ignition as it burns too quickly.

Tesco 99 stuff is basically Tesco 95RON petrol with bio-ethanol additives added to make the required RON grade. V Power, like Optimax has been designed from the start as a performance fuel and as such performs better.

Personally I have never used any supermarket fuel and never intend to, V Power all the way for me, regardless of price too.

some big repair bills coming with an attitude like that. my cars fitted with a knock sensor, only ever put bad (low) fuel in once, will not be doing that again! Also BT unitermate for some reason has he sensor in the orange lol. Tesco and V power green zone always
