Default Need some info on an RB5 model please guys!

I am picking up a 99T RB5 model this week. I won the car on ebay! The car has 100K miles and I paid £5200. It is the prodrive model. Can anyone tell me much about these cars? What bhp are they running? Should I be put off by the high mileage and have I got the car at a good price??

Thoughts please!!

Stu

"Won"? Ive never understood this outlook. In order to 'win'; surely you just need to pay more?

I'm sure someone will be along with the info you need, but in the meantime check out the RB5 owners club site - lots of good info there.

Hi mate. the RB5 has stiffer shell for the richard burns edition, the jap performance mag i have says it has 240 bhp, 258lb ft torque, 0-60 5.2 seconds, topspeed 145mph. price range 6000-11000. but i would say yours would be closer to 6000 with the high miles, as long as it been well looked after it should be ok. im not sure if it has the stronger sti block some of the scooby regulars may be able to shed more light on what it got and what it hasnt.

RSTurbo: do you know what model / 444 it is?

as for the mileage, first thing I would say is get it looked at by a specialist company or Subaru dealer to give it the once over, see if the belts are ok and also, the pulleys are notorious for failing on this year model.

Pop over to our site RB5 Owners club as Iwan said, best advice from the owners and we also have all the specs, brochure etc etc to hand for you to read up on.

As for price, if it is a sound car then yes you got a bargain. All depends on the quality of it and what it will cost to sort, if it should do.

Dont suppose you have the link to the ebay auction?

like its already been said. You "won" the car so its too late for any worries. You have to buy it. You have got it for a good price by the look of it though. It was advertised on piston heads for 1k more than you paid and that advert claims the cars mint. So you seem to have a good deal.

No a bit before my time. You were profiled on The Word back in the late eighties which is where I recognised you from.
