Anyone go to shakspeare today ? Heard Steve Guirey did 9.3 at 150mph, and Scooby Daz snapped a drive shaft.
What other results were there ?

I heard that webby Shaun had his new cosworth 2.5 engined build out, don't know how quick it was though ?
I recall him saying that if it didn't run 11's he would sell/burn/scrap it or something
I don't see it in the classified ads
Bob Rawle was also there I believe but again I don't know times.
That guirey bloke is getting a bit close !

Mikee,
Steve's car looks good, & the terminals are much better, guess the nitrous has been switched on
Don't really know about Shaun's times last year. What did he do on Sunday ?

At first I couldnt get the start right. Got the start right and managed a 60ft of 1.6 and then missed two gears and got a 12.97 . Then my undertray came loose and I had to fix that (thanks to Mikee & Steve for tools), had another go and missed gears again and got a 13.1. I was then that pee'd off with myself I went home!
Based on the best start and then missing two gears but getting a 12.97, I am very confident a 11.something will be there on Sunday. Not sure what the gear issue was, but I nearly pulled the gear **** off at one point..... I think I was being too brutal and hasty!
At least the twin plate clutch took the abuse like a man.
Give me a chance..... I only ran the engine in last week and the mapping is not finished yet!
Mark,
Managed a 12.5 last year with 100bhp & 100lbft less.
Regards,
Shaun.

That's a long list of problems....
I mean excuses

Paul,
It's a shame the results had nothing to do with the engine!
Alan,
Absolutely and there is no reason why it shouldnt. Lets be practical..... couldnt get it in to gear twice properly on one run and still got a 12.97. We will see.
Neil,
Will be interesting to see if your car gets to the end of the drag strip on Sunday....... thats if you do the 1/4m!
Andy,
Fortunately I have a cracking female to do that for me.
Jjones,
You would be miserable if you had been running on stress for the past week, with the only thing to look forward to was another week of stress!

Not at all.
I have nothing to hide and only told the truth. The facts remain that the car has circa 100bhp / 100lbft (after only 500miles on the clock) more than the old engine. The Cosworth power graph overlayed over the previous twin scroll turbo, 2ltr engine shows that no performance has been lost to 3400rpm at which point the turbo just takes off (and that is without the ECUTEK megarom being used, which will come in the near future) and leaves the 2ltr for dust. During the initial mapping the engine made 390bhp @ 1bar.
12.5 at Avon Park on the 2ltr engine at the end of last year (we all complained of no grip that day - car didnt get proper traction till 3rd!)... now go an figure how much quicker the car will be now on a clean run. No IF's and BUT's, the car will be quicker than 12.5 down the 1/4.
Of course the most important thing is the fact that after going on track at Castle Coombe on Saturday and running down the 1/4 on Sunday, the engine and car is as sweat as a nut. Above all, this is THE most important thing to me.
Personally I can't wait to get back down Bruntingthorpe to do some performance testing again, like I did last year.

Mr Norris flys past most people, but then you wouldnt expect anything less from a car running TWICE the power that I am running. When he comes behind you, you just back off and move over...... i'm not that stupid.
Anyone that has driven Castle Coombe will realise, it's not the track to be playing the hero when you have not driven it before, especially when your backside is going ten to the dozen with a new setup that is so much quicker than what it was when you drove the car last time, 3 months previous.

Shaun Megarom won't make you any more power, its only a version of the 591code customised to order, I'm suprised people are only just getting round to it, does need some time spent to get 20 gear related boost control maps sorted. Should make a good difference to the gear by gear boost response, no excuses once thats in use.
I had a good day in some respects and not so good in others, the good bit was that my 60 ft time dropped from 2.4 ish to 1.7, relatively pleased with that, the bad bit is that I consistently missed the 2nd to third shift, total incompetance, worked it out on the way home, box movement due to torque and I was still pushing the lever where it normally would go !! .... idiot !!
Car ran well, making low 120's terminal speed even with the missed shifting. Looking forward to Sunday ... as long as it doen't rain that is !! Got a slap as my breather dribbled so a mod to be done there b4 Sunday. Car ran well, was able to circle the strip repetitively without stopping as it was a relatively quiet day. No temperature issues at all all day.
