P1 or R33 GTR or Evo 6 TME?
I know a lot of you guys aint exclusive Impreza - so if you had say £13k - £17k to spend on a car, would you get a Scooby P1, a Skyline R33 GTR or a EVO 6 Tommi Makinen Edition [red with all the graphics I reckon!!!] - pros and cons of each would be great.....or save money for a little longer and get a Mk1 Litchfield T25?

Well i`ve had a Mak, Autronic ecu, anti-lag, 370bhp was an awesome car only 16k miles it did eveything you asked of it and yet it didn`t excite me, don`t know why.
I have now an STI RA and i love this car so much, i just think (and this is my opinino) Subaru have more character, as for your choices, test drive them all and see how you feel.
This was my Mak.

thats because of the Twin scroll turbo and the stubid AYC. i can say that cos i have had 3 evos and still drives a scooby now.
Evos are faster but i am sorry they are for begineers... unless you buy a RS version
i'd choose a P1 easy to live and special to own.
but if you have the money... got to be the T25

that spec c is cheap especially on an 05 plate, maybe i should have held on for a while
actually after looking at it again it has the pre 05 heater dials so it might not be as it seems
anyway back on topic id say go for the GTR

Dont think id have anything but an Evo again in that price range.
I still really want an R34 GTR, then I think "why?"
Its still near 30k and a well sorted Evo 8 or 9 is an easy match for an R34. Its just the "Skyline" factor
The 33GTR is looking very dated now.
P1 is the best daily driver though... But I would pay much more than 11k for one.

Evos out the box def quicker than Scoobs if thats what u want but as above Scoob has character and just something about it that makes it more desirable than Evo. Even Top Gear say this. As for Skylines they were great in their day but are old hat now! Would have to be P1, STI PPP, STI RA, or ultimately Type 25 for me.

Evo's quicker out the box then a scoob you lot having a laugh, SPEC C !!!!!..........have a look at this vid all cars are in standard form AND the spec c starts from the back AND ***** up a gear.

Ive owned a 350bhp Evo running Autronics etc, Ive also owned wait for it !!!
7 scoobies, including a New P1 back in 2001.
Drawback of P1 = all thrashed and ready to blow now, they dont tune well !
They are already fairly quick,.
Evo's, theres issues with the mak's, diff bolts sheering, and they arent particularly rapid as standard.
Id steer clear of skylines, as far as Im concerned they are unreliable and costly.
Im running a Version 5 Sti just now, a few mods, I come back to subaru's everytime just for the sheer, sound and enjoyment of it.
Tough choice, there is a well sorted P1 with the big brake conversion near me its on pistonheads for for 15k id go for that m8.

This is very interesting....

If we are talking new prices, a GTR isnt 30k more of a car in terms of performance, even if it could be argued that it is indeed quicker than a production Evo. Im not saying it isnt worth the extra in terms of overall package, as its an incredible machine.

That was my worry, and really my point about it vs something like a scoob or Evo which is smaller and lighter. The R33 I tried felt very nible for a big car, but its still a big car to be flinging around a country road.

Yeh its a tough choice for the fella in that price bracket, Id probably be looking for an already properly sorted P1 or Type R or of course a Evo 6 RS or probably even a sorted evo 8 at the top end of his money,.
