Question

Despite having just today cracked a mere 7500 miles, my MY01 is due its 15000 mile service in two weeks.

My dealer is quoting £202 for the service and £100 for the underseal check.

Is that ok and is it worth the £100 for them to look at the underseal?????

they apply the underseal which keeps up the body warrenty so worth doing if you are bothered about that.

Had mine done last month. Parks of Exeter £227 inc vat for service and underseal + loan of wrx for the whole day, which was nice.

They are a main dealer as well

AFAIK if you don't have the "bodywork service" done you are likely to lose your corrosion warranty.

Cool

As well as checking and reapplying the underseal (if necessary) they also spray waxoyl into all the body cavities (The car smells for a couple of weeks afterwards). As has already been mentioned you will lose the bodywork warranty if you do not have it done within one month of its 1st birthday.

Prices you are being quoted are about the same as I was charged earlier in the year.

Sounds like a fair price to me, I paid £280 all in for mine at Beechdales in Notts (top place - hi Tim!)which included hire of a Forester (both their courtesy WRX's had been crashed the previous week!)

The underseal work does need to be done to retain the bodywork warranty.

Thumbs up

Hey
if any of you need a cheap service in the South East try www.subaru4you.co.uk
they have worked on my STi5 and are excellent, and are Ex (and current) Subaru employees. The best bit is that they work evenings and weekends.
I'll be using them from now on
cheers
Dan

My 15,000 done today £189. Didn't bother with the underseal as its an import and the warranty's about to run out.

When my 15000 mile sevice was due, I had only done 7000 miles, the dealer just did a 7500 service as he said the rest was not necessary and was a waste of my money, what a great attitude, needless to say he will be getting my future business, unlike my other local(ish) dealer who wanted to do the full 15000 mile service at price of £235!!!!! Plus the body sevice which was £150 !!! FYI I paid £100 for the body service at the cheaper dealer.

7500 and 15,000 mile services are exactly the same (oil and filter change) except that in the 15,000 mile service an extra hour is taken (alledgedly) checking things.
