Screeching brakes!
Sometimes usually when my brakes have got hot there is a really loud screeching noise coming from them. It goes if i put my foot on the brake
Anyone experienced this?

Theres a wear indicator on the shims, it contacts the disc and makes a screeching noise.
You could 'bend-back' the indicator a bit to see if the noise stops.
Whether you replace the Discs too depends upon their wear - I think it is a minimum of 18mm thick on the front - they start at 22mm.

Havent checked the inside ones...will get them checked out.
The main reason why i didnt think the pads had worn out was that i only get the noise when i am not braking, when a brake the noise dissapears
Was thinking maybe the pads are sticking??

dont forget some pads squeek all the time its just a down side to performance pads due to the compound of them. mintex are great pads but so damn noisy but its the price you pay. what they lack in comfort they make up in perfomance..

Apec - I think - are very cheap patent pads.
I thought long and hard about what to replace my front pads with, the originals on the front had covered about 66,000miles - the rears have yet to be changed and I am now on 77,500miles.
I fitted Subaru standard brake pads and discs .... they fit perfectly, they don't squeal, they are just 'right' - quality costs, but it is well worth it IMO - in 66,000miles time the car will be 12 years old having just worn out 2 sets of front pads after 132,000miles .. cannot say fairer than that!

1) wheel bearings for excessive play
2) Back plate is not too close to Disc, apply slight pressure on either side of it whilst turning wheel on Jack
IMHO
