IVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A 93 STI IMPREZA.EVERY NOW AND AGAIN ITS IF I LOOSE ALL POWER AND THE REVS HAVE A MIND OF THERE OWN TICKING UP AND DOWN.ONLY CURE IVE FOUND IS BY RESETING THE ECU,THIS WORKS BUT ONLY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS.CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP!!!
(LAMBDA CAM CRANK KNOCK SENSORS IVE CHANGED

got a dump valve fitted? if so remove it and put a standard one on for a few days to see if this sorts it out.

if it does, and you want a dv get a specific one for the car, iirc it needs to be a twin piston dv.

id try this before the maf as it could be either and this is the cheaper option

The first sti`s didn`t come out until my94.

 

Emm I was just about to assume it's a wrx, not that this makes any difference to solving the problem.

i brought the car while it was still in japan thinking it was just a standed wrx with a bit of a mad front bumper but it turn out it was all labled up and sti hand crafted and tuned and now youve told me that i think i might have baged me self a bit of a bargin cheers m8t

 

ARE THEY STAMPED ANYWHERE TO SEE IF ITS AN STI?

 

to be honest mate i dont know coz me mate has just brought a sti wagon and his aint stamped just got a few stickers under bonnet but mine has got plaques saying no6 outta 100 1994

 

Take out your panel filter, give it a brush.

THen whip out the MAF Sensor & brush with Carb Cleaner & leave to dry.

I reolied my panel filter & for ages was getting hesitation, since I've cleaned the MAF no problem.

Once every couple of months I clean it goes great.

This happened tome whilst driving i lost all power and revs were just bouncing up and down. It was the thick pipe thats on the dumpvalve had came off cos the clip had came loose check 4 that m8

IVE MOVED THE KNOCK SENSOR AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION.(SO FAR SO GOOD).TIME WILL TELL!
