P1's generally require a Remap due to the nature of the map they run and the difference in the RON rating between the Jap fuel which is 100 RON (which is what the P1 map is designed for) and the UK fuel 96-99 RON.
Still one hell of a car, and your not going to loose a lot of money if it's well maintained and looked after with a P1 due to the rareness and limited numbers

P1 one is a UK prodrive special edition. IIRC they have a generic "piggy-back" board attached to the ECU rather than a software remap

They are collectable and desireable, this creates the value, while they are good, I think most people who have driven both would prefer the P1 (from what I have read, having not done so myself). The JDM cars should be cheaper which may or may not be a factor as
1/ it leaves money for more mods
2/ modifying a P1 doesn't always add value, whereas with the JDM you are more likley to get some money back at sale time.
Not trying to start and argument, just a 'factual' statement based on the prices I've seen for both stock and modded versions of both!
The 2 door is stiffer and arguably looks better, 4 door more practical, neither inherently better!
