Read the link & seen what they've done. My car was new in Japan Dec 2004 but registered in the UK when imported ie Jan 2007 ...
Surely they've cocked this up as it must be when car was new not imported
TX.

Ironic isn't it, my Spec C is newer than yours TX (new and registered in the UK Jan 06) but I'm paying less tax than your older one, if you know what I mean.

Yes, unfortunately it is going up to £400 next year and you can bet it will continue to increase disproportionately in future years. I have a feeling that as time goes on this high road tax is going to have a very big impact on used values of band G cars. Its not so bad paying £400 if you've just bought a £20k car - but paying £400 tax each year on say, a £5k car, is difficult to swallow...

Im in the same band with my mear WRX, but hey, its only just over a quid a day.
Could always drive more economically and save a litre of fuel a day which will pay for the tax lol.
Or do what im doing, think sod it, and just enjoy your car

from the gov website
Was it type approved or SVA???
if it was type approved you pay the higher tax as they recorded the CO2 but if it was SVA then they dont record the CO2 as mine
Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 based on CO2 emissions and fuel type.
Please note: These rates apply only to cars that have been type approved within category M1 of Annex II to Council Directive 70/156/EEC and which have been registered on the basis of a type approval certificate that shows its carbon dioxide emissions level in terms of grams per kilometre driven.

Tx in the special notes on your V5 it will tell you if its sva'd in two parts
1. declared new at first registration.
2.sva issued ********emission limit blah,blah,blah.
well thats on my V5 just retaxed the car before the new year 12months £190 323 g/km co2 don't need to bother until the end of the year.
